Gibraltar Development of Milwaukee Corporation (GDMC) provides housing rehabilitation to owner-occupied households with incomes that are classified as Extremely Low Income, Very Low Income, and Low Income persons, as described by the Department of Housing and Urban Development, in the City of Milwaukee. GDMC serves the entire Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) target area, but primarily serves the north side of Milwaukee CDBG target area.


The services ensure that the owner occupant homes are code compliant and sustainable for their clients for the near future. GDMC has provided these services for the past 12 years and has rehabbed over 79 units totaling over 2.9MM in scope. GDMC’s primary responsibilities have been; Identify owner-occupants as potential clients, Assist in the successful completion of NIP applications, Solicit licensed/bonded contractors, Prioritize work schedules, complete the work as indicated by city of Milwaukee Department of Neighborhood Services, correspond with the city of Milwaukee and federal government on program.

Founder

  • Mr. Christopher Martin, Executive Director, Gibraltar Development of Milwaukee Corp is responsible for the project management and successful completion of each project. As the Executive Director, Mr. Martin has been the project manager for all projects that GDMC has completed in the past 12 years. He was previously the city of Milwaukee’s Emerging Business Program Director where he led small business development initiatives thru business certifications, community partnerships, and identifying contracting opportunities.  In addition, he led the Residential Participation Program, which assisted city of Milwaukee residents gain employment opportunities in the construction trades.  Mr. Martin is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee.  He is a graduate of Marquette University’s Associates in Commercial Real Estate Program (ACRE) where he has acquired Housing project management and Budget management proficiency.
